In April 2020, It’s Just Us in the Community (IJUITC) was formalized as a 501(c)(3) organization committed to offering innovative programs that foster respect, love and understanding of self and others. We envision a world where we celebrate and honor all people, find common ground, and grow stronger together. At IJUITC, we are dedicated to fostering leadership, community engagement, and global citizenship through programs that benefit both young people and the wider community. By bridging generations, we create opportunities for mutual learning, collaboration, and empowerment, helping to build a stronger, more resilient society.

What We Do:

·  Community Engagement & Leadership Development: We use radio and television interviews as a platform to engage community stakeholders and industry professionals in conversations to deepen the understanding of community needs and open up new opportunities. 

·  Youth-Led Initiatives: Train and empower young people to lead interviews and discussions to amplify their perspectives or amplify their voices, to promote critical thinking, to strengthen communication skills, and to build their confidence. We partner in this initiative with the Street Children Empowerment Foundation (SCEF), a youth-serving organization in Accra, Ghana West Africa, to give a voice to children living in street situations in the Accra region.

·  Community Service projects: We actively engage in ongoing community service projects that address social challenges and provide service and support such as construction projects, cleanup efforts following natural disasters, and outreach services. These hands-on experiences foster personal growth and cultural exchange.

·  Career Readiness & Self-Awareness Programs: Our programs teach youth essential leadership skills, emotional intelligence, and self-awareness, preparing them to become active and contributing members of society.

·  International Reach & Global Citizenship: We connect youth globally, providing a platform for cross-generational learning and collaboration, helping young people appreciate different cultures and community engagement.

·  We strengthen community bonds by bringing people together to work to solve local challenges and improve the quality of life for the community.

·  Through career readiness programs, mentorship, and self-awareness training, we provide young people with the skills to succeed in the workforce, enhancing educational outcomes, increasing employability, reducing unemployment and supporting economic growth.

·  Our community service projects, including disaster relief and construction efforts, address immediate needs while also promoting long-term sustainability. These hands-on experiences create a sense of pride and ownership and demonstrate to youth participants that their efforts can make a significant impact.

·  We connect  youth with global communities, broadening their perspectives and encouraging cultural exchange to cultivate a more inclusive, tolerant, and globally-minded community that fosters mutual respect and understanding across cultures.

·  Our community service initiatives directly improve local infrastructure and environment, reducing the long-term impacts of natural disasters, accelerating recovery and ensuring that communities are better prepared for emergencies. These efforts create cleaner, safer neighborhoods, which attract investment, tourism, and local business development.
